Online Schemes: How To Avoid Them
There are a lot of people out there taking the internet by storm and promising their “secret” to overnight success in many ways. Be it via membership sites, online guides, and e-books that you can download, all of which comes with a price.
Unfortunately these people are always looking for their own well being instead of actually helping new people that honestly want to earn money the right way. Those people are the ones that are actually making the professionals have a bad name in the market.
I’m sure you have heard that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. When you come to a website and they promise you something that your gut tells you that is too good to be true, stay away. To avoid online schemes you must listen to your inner self and never go back to that website.
If you want to start your very own online business is no different than if you would start a business offline. In fact, making a living with a business online or offline takes time, hard work and a lot of commitment. When people work for other companies, you spent hours and hours doing your job right? And sometimes doing overtime if you didn’t finish a task, well when running your own business often means you will be working a lot more hours, mainly because you want to protect your investment and you want it to be successful.
However, I often see people fail on their attempt to have a successful online business. And this is because people have the misunderstanding that you can make 10K a month and only working 3 hours a week! I want to be clear, you CAN have this huge success online, but it will take hard work and a lot of learning and persistence. It’s not impossible, on the contrary, everything in this world is POSSIBLE as long as you believe in yourself, have the right mindset and the right training and mentoring. Just think of it like a celebrity athlete or mega music star, it’s not impossible to become one, it definitely can happen, but most probably it won’t. So you can make 10K per month or more, but it’ll be more likely that you will be working hours and hours to reach that level unlike what these online schemes make you believe. You will not be earning this kind of money overnight or in 30 days, it’s just not going to happened.
Unfortunately, most people are not informed and the fact that these scammers are well good at what they do, it is hard for the uninformed to fall over and over again to these online schemes. It happened to me and I want to help you spot these tricksters.
5 Tips To Help You Spot & Avoid Online Schemes
Tip#1: Unbelievable Claims
I repeat, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We must always use common sense when considering to put our credit card information to these online schemes. Stay away from any service or product that is claiming that you can become successful overnight and earn thousands of dollars in as little as 3 days. I can tell you now that the only ones making money there are the people that you are buying these products or services from, not YOU!
Tip#2: Lack of Free Trials and Demos
All of the online schemes will not let you see what the actual product is. They will not tell you up front what you will be doing and even how you will be doing it in order for yourself to be earning the amount of money they so claim you will be making with their product or service. They will fool you by putting a good sales page letter together which is called a “squeeze page” (more on that with my tip#3), wrap it in a good looking website and then tell you that they are legit. I personally in the past have fallen and suckered in by these online schemes. I have been there and let me tell you it really doesn’t feel good to be taken advantage off this way.
Tip#3: The Squeeze Page
The main purpose of a squeeze page is to get your name and email address. It can lead you up to sign up to their online services. Some squeeze pages are effective marketing while most are just well bland, tacky and cheesy mainly designed to lure you in.
How can you tell if a squeeze page is an online scheme, if your gut tells you that something doesn’t seem right, then most probably it’s not. For example, if you land on a site that only allows you to see a video that you can’t control, stop or pause and there’s really nothing else and then all you see is a section to put your name and email address with nothing else, go ahead and turn away and never come back to that site, chances are that that website is running an online scheme.
Tip#4: No Contact Information
Most websites that run these online schemes don’t have a way for you to get a hold of them, no email address, no physical address and definitely no phone numbers available. Even if the website has a phone number or a way of contact, but you do not get a response back from them and you see that there’s no support, you are better off not getting involved with that product or service.
Tip#5: The Persistent Upsells
If a website that is running an online scheme charges you to join them to get their product or service and makes you buy. Chances are that down the line they will charge you for “additional services” and many more upsells just to get more of your hard earned money. Most of the online schemes start with the “low fruit” products like the $1.00 trial offer and then after a period of days they will charge you full price. They do this in hopes that you forget to cancel their trial period and have these companies charge your credit card. Once they lure you in, you will be punched from every single angle, upsell here, downsell there and when you come to see, you have now wasted thousands of dollars to these online schemes products or services. This is why I always recommend products you can “try before you buy” like Wealthy Affiliate.
